What We Do...

We are working to help protect some of the most vulnerable...

Trafficking is a huge problem.  Roma (gypsy) girls are some of the most targeted girls in all the world.  Their parents often sell them for the price of a horse.  The St. John's Home will be a safe haven for some of these girls where they will not have to worry about this fate.

St. John's Girls' Home
Bulgaria is at the center of human trafficking in Europe - It is unfortunately a sending, transporting and destination country.
Team Bulgaria wants to do something about that by providing a “Safe House” for at risk girls between the age of 14-18 especially from the Roma (gypsy) villages to prevent them from being trafficked.
We want to offer hope through a home where they can finish their education, learn skills to give them proper employment and most of all let them know what real LOVE is.
A place to live, learn and understand who they are in Christ!

Family Ministries

We will be working with nationals to help disciple in developing family ministries.  We believe in the importance of strong families with a foundation in the Lord.  This helps to prevent some of these issues before they ever start!

Training Church Planters

The Church Plant project consists of taking mature leaders from existing churches with their pastor's love and blessing and sending them to cities or villages and empowering them to take the gospel to where they know God is leading them (where they have a heart for a certain people group).

Agriculture Project

Land has been acquired to hire and train Roma how to farm organically. Produce from the land will be used to feed families, sell locally, and donate to a soup kitchen.

Microenterprise

The Roma suffer under severe prejudice and discrimination.  They are shunned from regular Bulgarian society, only allowed in town on approved days.  Severe unemployment results because they simply do not have the same opportunities.  We are working to change this through providing ways for them to provide for their families through skill training.
All of these ministries are housed under the umbrella of the St. John's Foundation, of which, Chad will be the Administrator.  Hollie will also be working with Women's Conferences and they both will help with hosting short-term missions teams.
